Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque - ABU DHABI, UAE
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is located in Abu Dhabi, the capital city of the United Arab Emirates. It is the largest mosque in the country and is the key place of worship for daily, Friday and Eid prayers. During Eid, it may be visited by more than 41,000 people. The Grand Mosque was constructed between 1996 and 2007 and it was designed by Syrian architect Yousef Abdelky.
Seven 24 karat gold gilded chandeliers, made by Faustig in Munich, Germany, are encrusted with millions of Swarovski crystals from Austria. The largest of the chandeliers is one of the world's largest, measures 10 meters wide and 15 meters high and weighs 12 tons.
