City views - ANDORRA LA VELLA

Andorra la Vella is the capital of the Principality of Andorra. It is located high in the east Pyrenees, between France and Spain, at 1,023 metres (3,356 ft) above sea level. Therefore, it is the highest capital city in Europe and a popular ski resort.

Andorra la Vella means "Andorra the Town", to distinguish it from the Principality of Andorra as a whole. The city has a population of about 23,000 residents.

Tourism is the principal industry of Andorra considering the fact that every year 10 million tourist visit the country. Andorra also earns foreign income from being a tax heaven. Although the state is not a member of the European Union, it uses the euro currency and that is because it has a customs arrangement with the EU.
